What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email, phone (optional), state or market of interest, and where you are in the franchise discovery process. We also store which franchise brands you save, the status label you assign each one, and any private notes you write.

How we use it

We use your account info to let you sign in, save franchises across devices, and keep your private notes private. Joe Bailey — as the consultant running Franchise Reports — sees your signup details, your market, your process stage, and which brands you've bookmarked. He does not see your private notes unless you share them with him directly.

What we will never do

We will never sell your contact info or your saved list to franchisors, brokers, or any third party. We will not share it with the franchise brands themselves — if you decide to take a discovery call with a specific brand, Joe introduces you and you control what's shared, not us.

How it's secured

Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Sessions use industry-standard secure tokens. All traffic is over HTTPS. The database enforces row-level security so one client can never read another client's data, even if something went wrong with the client-side code.

Deleting your data

Email Joe at joe@thefranchisereports.com and your account plus everything attached to it will be deleted within a few business days. No questions asked.

Cookies

We use a session cookie so you stay logged in between page loads. That's it. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics beyond what Netlify provides for basic site-traffic reporting.
